Hi, I'm Arno, proud owner of a 1956 Ford F100 Pickup Truck. Because I wanted an original truck it took a few years to find one. Then in 2002 after a lot of websurfing I found an add on the internet for a 56' F100. It was located near Rotterdam, already imported and with dutch title. The same week we drove 120 miles to the US classic dealer. After inspection I found out it was an all original California truck, first paint, bedwood, original 272 cubic inch V8 engine with a single Holley 94 two barrel carburater and ford-o-matic tranny. Everthing matched the vin-plate. The only missing part was the rear bumper. So we took it out for a test drive, everything seems to be ok and in working order. One week later we went back and paid the man, and drove the truck 120 miles back home without any trouble. After a lot of fun already, in 2006 I made my first repear by replacing the worn out and cracked carburator. I purchased a rebuilt Holley 94 EBU on ebay. I made a 2 inch spacer and a custom K&N aircleaner. Then I installed everything, adjusted iddle and kickdown linkage. I drove to my local us car dealer to check iddle mixture. Well done he said, no need for adjustment, it's ok like it is. All this made a great improvement in trottle respons and power. After driving around my effie for a few years, we dicided to go for a frame off restoration. I started in september 2008. It's going to be like original again, exept for a stroked engine with some more muscles, modern brakes, fresh green paint and some chrome dress up parts. On the next pages you can see the progress I made so far. If someone has some questions or comment you, please mail. |
